Clarets boss Glenn Pennyfather has offered his sincere thanks to winger Joe Benjamin and central midfielder Jermaine Brown, who have departed the Clarets playing squad with the best wishes of everyone at Chelmsford City FC.

Both arrived in the summer after impressing the Management Team in pre-season but recent minutes in the starting line-up have been limited and an amicable agreement was made to allow them to seek football elsewhere. Joe played in 20 games for City in 2011, 15 times from the bench, while Jermaine was involved on 13 occasions.

Pennyfather explained: “We’re currently on good form and the players with the shirts at the moment have all taken their opportunities, which has made it difficult for Joe and Jermaine to get into the equation. They’re both talented lads who want to play football and we wish them every success, as they deserve it.”
